Thirty years ago, an agriculture collage was established at Rawalakot; since then it has progressed and now achieved status of a complete University. It is a matter of great pride and honour for me to lay its foundation stone and be the first chancellor of The University of Poonch.

I am confident that the university will help in human resource development of the region and impart educational & research skills to the future generations.It is envisaged that under the dynamic leadership of Professor Dr. Manzoor Hussain Khan as founder Vice Chancellor of the University of Poonch Rawalakot and his competent faculty and administration team the new institution will flourish and attain international standards. 

I hope the university will excel in research and quality education to reach a prominent status at global level and contribute to the society by carving a disciplined, educated and skilled human resource.
