About Me

Dr. Noosheen Zahid joined the Department of Horticulture, University of Poonch Rawalakot as an Assistant Professor (TTS) since 01/11/2017 after completing one-year IPFP in the same Department. She has completed her PhD from University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus in August 2014 in the field of Horticulture (Postharvest Pathology). During the last 6 years of her services in the Department of Horticulture, she has taught B.Sc (Hons), M.Sc (Hons) and PhD courses. Dr. Zahid has successfully supervised BSc (Hons) students for their final year projects, MSc (Hons) thesis students as a supervisor and as a member. While 07 MSc (Hons) thesis students and 06 PhD scholars are currently under her supervision. In total, she has published 17 research articles in journals of international repute. She has also published 07 articles in conference proceedings in the last five years. Moreover, she has also published 02 book chapters during this period. Dr. Zahid has been honored to become a life member of Pakistan Society for Horticultural Science (PSHS). Moreover, she also served the PSHS as a Vice President for Kashmir region twice from 2018-2019 and 2021-2022. Dr. Zahid has been awarded with 02 research projects as a PI. One of them was awarded by the Higher Education Commission Islamabad under Local Challenge Fund (LCF) worth PKR 3.094 million in 2021. While the second project was awarded by the Higher Education Commission Islamabad under NRPU worth PKR 3.019 million in 2022.
Dr. Zahid has participated in 27 national and international conferences, workshops and seminars. Dr. Zahid earned an HEC travel grant for presenting her research paper at 3rd International Conference Agriculture, Food, Veterinary and Pharmacy sciences (ICAFOP 2019) organized by the Trabzon University, Turkey. She also presented her research paper as an invited speaker at the First International Conference on Sustainability of Natural Resources: Sustainable Solid Waste Management (SNR- SSWM2019), organized by the College of Engineering, Qassim University, Saudi Arabia. She served as a convener in 6th International Conference organized by the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Poonch Rawalakot in 2019.
