About Me

Dr. Muhammad Waqas serves as an Assistant Professor of Veterinary Medicine within the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, University of Poonch Rawalakot, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Pakistan. He completed his Bachelor's degree (DVM) at Gomal University in 2009. Later, he earned an M.Phil. degree in Clinical Medicine with a distinction (Silver Medal) from the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore, Pakistan, in 2011. Subsequently, in June 2020, he obtained his Ph.D. degree in Clinical Veterinary Medicine from Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, P.R. China, focusing on the utilization of Traditional Chinese Medicines for treating Tibial dyschondroplasia in broiler chickens. Dr. Waqas is a highly accomplished academic and researcher, boasting extensive clinical expertise. His prolific contributions include numerous research and review articles published in premier national and international peer-reviewed scientific journals, garnering widespread citation in the academic community. To date, he has authored 42 publications, accumulating an impressive Impact Factor of 162.8. His research pursuits encompass infectious diseases in both small and large animals, metabolic and bone disorders, Tibial dyschondroplasia and signaling pathways in chickens. Beyond his research commitments, Dr. Waqas is actively engaged in teaching and mentoring students.
