About Me

Dr. Abdul Aziz is currently serving as a Lecturer in Veterinary Surgery. He initially joined the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir as a Lecturer on March 19, 2012. Following the campus's upgrade to the University of Poonch Rawalakot, he has continued his role as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences since July 1, 2012. Before joining the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, he worked as a Scientific Officer (BPS-17) at the National Veterinary Laboratories (NVL) in Islamabad for two and a half (2.5) years. Additionally, he served as a Technical Advisor at Chanab Distributors, Rawalpindi, for one year. Dr. Abdul Aziz completed his MSc (Hons) in Veterinary Surgery from Sindh Agriculture University, Tando Jam, in 2008. Subsequently, he obtained his PhD from the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore, Pakistan, in November 2023, specializing in Veterinary Surgery. Throughout his 12 years in the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, he has taught DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Sciences) and LAD (Livestock Assistant Diploma) courses. Dr. Abdul Aziz is the sole Veterinary surgeon in the Rawalakot region of AJK. He has successfully performed various sophisticated surgical operations, including soft tissue surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, ophthalmic surgeries, urogenital surgeries, and gastroenterological surgeries. Dr. Abdul Aziz has effectively supervised DVM students in their final year internship projects and served as the Chairman of the Examination Committee for 5 years. He continues to contribute as a member of the examination committee, board of studies, and Focal Person for the PM Laptop Scheme of the Higher Education Commission (HEC). His academic contributions include numerous research articles in internationally recognized journals, conference proceedings, and author of one book chapter. Dr. Abdul Aziz has participated in various editorial committees of esteemed journals. He is a lifelong member of the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC) as a registered veterinary practitioner and faculty member. He is also a member of the Society for Animal Reproduction, Pakistan (SARP), a lifetime member of the Pakistan Society of Zoology (PSP). He is an executive member of Chinar Vet. Care Society at the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, The University of Poonch Rawalakot, AJK. His active involvement extends to participation in 52 national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars. Dr. Abdul Aziz earned an HEC Faculty Development Program Scholarship during his PhD and an HEC Japanese Scholarship during his master's degrees.
