Dr. Zulfiqar Ahmed is a veterinary scientist specializing in Animal Genetics, Breeding, and Reproduction. He holds a DVM from Sindh Agricultural University Tandojam, an M.Sc. (Hons) in Livestock Management from Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad, and a PhD in Animal Genetics from Huazhong Agricultural University, China. He has over 18 years of experience in veterinary practice, teaching, and research. He served as Veterinary Health Officer in the Department of Animal Husbandry, AJK, and is currently Lecturer (Animal Breeding and Genetics) at the University of Poonch Rawalakot. He is serving as Regional Scientific Director of a Higher Education Commission-funded national project on livestock breeding, genetics, and genomics, focusing on genomic research, breed improvement, and capacity building. Dr. Ahmed has received advanced training in bioinformatics, next-generation sequencing (NGS), genomic and molecular techniques, and embryo transfer technology from leading national and international institutions. His research focuses on animal genomics, genetic diversity, and reproductive biotechnology, with over 70 publications in reputed international journals contributing to livestock improvement and genetic resource conservation.
