About Me

Dr. Mian Akif Safeen is an Associate Professor in Physics currently working at the University of Poonch Rawalakot, AJK. He obtained his PhD in Applied Physics from the University of Naples Federico II, Italy, in 2016. He also holds an M.Phil degree in Solid State Physics from the University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan, and an M.Sc degree in Physics from the University of Peshawar, Peshawar, Pakistan. Dr. Safeen has extensive experience in academia, having served as an Assistant Professor in Physics at both the University of Poonch Rawalakot, AJK and Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan. He also worked as a Research Assistant at the NEST laboratory Institute of Nano-science Pisa Italy. Dr. Safeen has been the recipient of several research grants, including the National Research Program for Universities (NRPU) Project 2021 worth 5.78 Million and the Start-Up Research Grant Program (SRGP), both sponsored by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. He has also been awarded multiple travel grants by the same agency to attend conferences in Saudi Arabia and the United States. Dr. Safeen has published 21 research papers in international peer-reviewed journals such as Nano letters, Journal of Applied Physics, RSC Advances, and Advanced Electronic Materials, among others.
