About Me
Mehboob Alam graduated from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan with a B.Sc. Telecommunication Degree (Gold Medal) and received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Calgary, Calgary, AB, Canada, and the Rice University, Houston, TX, USA, in 2003 and 2007 respectively. He is currently working as an Associate Professor and Chairman in the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Poonch Rawalakot, Pakistan. He also served as a faculty member at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Pakistan, and Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST), Mirpur, Pakistan. Dr. Alam was the recipient of the iCORE (Informatics Circle of Research Excellence) Canada Postgraduate Scholarship (2002-2003) and also received the Canadian Strategic Microelectronics Council of ITAC Industrial Collaboration Award (SMC Award) in 2003. He also received the prestigious Rice University Graduate Fellowship from 2004 to 2007 during his Ph.D. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Computational and Applied Mathematics, Rice University, Houston, TX, USA, and NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada) Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Toronto, Canada. His research interests include Nanophotonics and Metamaterials, VLSI Signal Processing, and Model Order Reduction (MOR) for Large-scale Linear, Non-linear and Stochastic On-chip Interconnect systems.
